Gerald W. Brann is the senior partner in the Brann, Williams, Caldwell and Sheetz Law Firm that has offices in Troy and Canton, Pennsylvania. He focuses on estates, estate planning, wills, trusts, elder law and real estate transactions. He also has experience in incorporating for profit and non-profit corporations.

Mr. Brann has been a member of the firm since May of 1964. Prior to that Mr. Brann practiced law with Bernard Duffy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from May of 1963 to April of 1964.

Mr. Brann received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1956 and earned his law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1962.

Evan S. Williams, Jr., is the managing partner of Brann, Williams, Caldwell & Sheetz. He began his practice at the firm in 1969 when he joined the firm as a partner with Gerald W. Brann. His principal areas of concentration include commercial acquisitions and sales, estate administration, estate planning, commercial and residential real estate, corporations and personal injuries.

Mr. Williams has lived and worked in Troy all his life. His wife, Linda, is an estate administration paralegal with the firm. They have two children (Evan S. Williams III, who practices with the firm, and Wendy Sbrollini) and five grandchildren. His father was the founder of the law firm and was later President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Bradford County from 1968 until his retirement in 1985.

Mr. Williams has served as solicitor for various community and public organizations including Troy Area Industrial Development Corporation, Troy Industrial Development Authority, Troy Community Hospital, Troy Area School District, and other local municipal organizations.

Mr. Williams has been a lecturer in law at Mansfield State University, has served as an officer or board member with various community charitable and for profit organizations, was Chairman of the Board of First Bank of Troy and a Board Member of Commonwealth Bankshares. He is currently President of the Troy Area Schools Foundation and President of Western Bradford Development Corporation.

Attorney Caldwell was born in Erie, PA on February 15, 1949. He was raised in Northwestern Pennsylvania and graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1967. He started his college education at the Berhrend Campus of the Pennsylvania State University and earned his BA degree, graduating from Pennsylvania State University, University Park Campus, State College, PA in February of 1971. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973, and then enrolled at the Dickenson School of Law, Carlisle, PA and graduated with a Doctorate of Laws degree (J.D.) in 1976.

Attorney Caldwell was admitted to the Bar of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1976 and entered upon the practice of law with this firm that year. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He maintains a general practice of the law, including real estate, decedent's estates and family law. In addition, his practice has concentrated in the areas of commercial and personal injury litigation, municipal law, workers' compensation and Social Security Disability law.

Attorney Caldwell is the solicitor for the Borough of Troy, Pennsylvania and 13 other municipal governments in Western Bradford County, Pennsylvania; including the Townships of Troy, Canton, Granville, Leroy, Columbia, Armenia, Wells, South Creek, Springfield, West Burlington, and Burlington as well as Alba Borough and Burlington Borough. He is currently the solicitor for the Bradford County Auditors and has served as solicitor for other county offices in the past including the County Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts, the County Treasurers Office and the County District Attorney's Office. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Martha Lloyd School and as an officer of the Brooks-Flick American Legion Post No. 49.

Attorney Caldwell has been married for 34 years and has raised four children. He and his wife, Cindy, reside in the Borough of Troy. Mrs. Caldwell is retired from employment with the law firm, having served the law firm as a real estate title examiner for 20 years.

Richard D. Sheetz has been a partner in the firm of Brann, Williams, Caldwell & Sheetz since 1995. Mr. Sheetz concentrates his practice to the areas of domestic relations, criminal law, real estate law and tort law. He also has extensive appellate law experience .

Mr. Sheetz received his Bachelor of Arts degrees (cum lande) from Muhlenberg College in 1982. He earned his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law in 1985.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Sheetz served as the Public Defender of Bradford County.

Mr. Sheetz is active in a number of civic organizations. He is a past president of the Canton Lions Club. He is a member of the board of directors of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Bradford County where he serves as the chairman of the public relations committee. He is also a representative to the Bradford County Republican Committee.

Matthew W. Brann was born in Elmira, New York on July 25, 1965. He was admitted to the Bar of Pennsylvania in 1990; to the Bar of the United States District Court for Middle District of Pennsylvania in 1993; and to the Bars of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court in 2000.

Mr. Brann received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1987 and earned his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law in 1990, where he served as Editor in Chief of the Dickinson Law Journal and as a member of the appellate moot court board.

Mr. Brann is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Bradford County Bar Associations and the Federalist Society. He previously served as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates and the Pennsylvania Bar Association Judicial Selection and Administration and Agricultural Law Committees. He was previously a member of the Pennsylvania Futures Commission of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Mr. Brann concentrates his practice in the areas of tort, contract, commercial and real property litigation; real estate; and estate planning and probate.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Brann served as the Chairman of the Bradford County Republican Committee, and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Martha Lloyd Community Services, the Board of Directors of the Five Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the Board of Trustees of the Guthrie Healthcare System.

David J. Brann is an associate in the Canton and Troy offices of Brann, Williams, Caldwell and Sheetz. David concentrates on criminal and civil litigation, family law, real estate, estate planning and probate. Evan S. Williams III is an associate in the Troy office of Brann, Williams, Caldwell & Sheetz. He focuses on business, commercial and personal civil litigation, including contract and real property disputes and personal injury. He also has transactional experience -- drafting various types of commercial agreements, closing real estate transactions, incorporating businesses, and dealing with intellectual property issues.

Mr. Williams is a relatively new member of the law firm, having returned to his home town of Troy at the end of 2001. Until then, and since graduating from Cornell Law School in 1996, Mr. Williams worked as an associate in the Litigation Department of the Chicago office of Gardner, Carton & Douglas. There he represented profit and not-for-profit corporations in numerous contract and partnership disputes in trial and appellate courts across the country. He worked on matters involving public law, business torts, consumer fraud, and patent infringement, and counseled clients regarding dispute resolution and avoidance.

Before graduating from Cornell Law School, Mr. Williams served as a student law clerk for the late Honorable Robert J. Gawthrop, III in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

In addition to receiving his law degree from Cornell, Mr. Williams also received his B.A. from Cornell University where he received All-Ivy Academic Honors in the intercollegiate sport of sprint football. He now volunteers as an assistant football coach for Troy Area High School.
